VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Photographer

Love taking pictures? We are always in need of help capturing images of our events.  Great chance to develop your photography skills--volunteer for just one event or more!

Help on Committees

We want to explore ideas for the following programs

  •  Volunteers – Administrative tasks, Adopt-a-plot garden volunteer, Garden Party volunteer, Garden Tour volunteer, etc.

  •  Marketing – how can we improve our marketing?

Plant Sale Volunteers In May

Volunteer for 2 hour shifts, if needed. We are looking for adult volunteers, children 12 years and older accompanied by an adult, and teens 15 years and older. We are happy to complete any forms for volunteer hours earned. Great for student groups!!!

All Shifts Need:

  • Plant Helpers- This entails periodic straightening of pots in their rows, handing sale flyers to customers coming to the sale, accompanying customers with larger purchases to their vehicles and bringing their shopping carts back to the sale lot. For adults wanting to bring along a child, this would be a good fit for those 12 years or older who enjoy interacting with people, adults, and teens 15 and older.

  • Cashier’s Assistant- Complete a tally sheet for customer's order before the customer approaches the cashier. Adding up the total amount due is done at the cashier table.This would be a good fit for adults whose child is 12 years or older and enjoys interacting with people but can stay in one area for several hours, adults, and teens 15 and older.

  • Clean up and Plant Moving- Taking down signs, returning carts, moving unsold plants back to holding area. This would be a good fit for adults whose child is 12 years or older and likes to be on the move, adults, and teens 15 and older. The majority of unsold plants are in one gallon pots. We load them onto flat trailers at the sale location and unload them at our holding site. Helpers are assigned to one site or the other, although the sites are only a block apart.
